What is Gnosis?

What you learn
Each class takes one subject and pairs it with a practice you can use in your own week. These are the main threads of the introductory course.
Meditation
Meditation, which here means learning to observe the mind and reach inner stillness.
Self-observation
Self-observation, which is watching your own reactions as they happen through the day.
The psychology of the ego
The psychology of the ego, which studies the many small selves, the anger, fear and pride, that run us automatically.
Dreams and astral projection
Dreams and astral projection, which is learning to stay conscious as the body sleeps.
Kabbalah
Kabbalah, an ancient map of the levels of consciousness, studied as a practical tool.
Esoteric symbolism and tarot
Esoteric symbolism and tarot, read as a language of inner principles rather than fortune-telling.
The three factors
The three factors of the awakening of consciousness, which are being born within, dying to the ego, and helping others.

How classes work
The introductory lectures are free and open to all, with no booking needed. The weekly classes that follow are run on donations, so nobody is turned away for money, and you can stop at any time with no obligation. Each class has a talk and a guided practice, and newcomers can join at any session.

Who teaches
Classes are led by volunteers who study and practise the Gnostic teaching in the lineage of Samael Aun Weor. Nobody earns an income from the classes.
Midrand Gnostic Centre
